Travel planning has a problem, and it isn’t a lack of information. It’s the opposite. There are
forty guides to the same city, half of them written in 2019, most of them quietly repeating each
other, and none of them telling you that the bus they recommend stopped running last spring.
That’s the gap Sun On Our Skin was built to close.
We’re a research desk. Our job is to read everything — the official sources, the operator
timetables, the forums where people complain three days after it happened, the fine print on
the visa page that nobody links to — and turn it into something you can actually plan around.
How we work

We go to the source.
Prices come from the operator, not from another blog quoting a blog. Opening hours come
from the venue. Entry rules come from the government page, in the language it was
published in. -

We cross-check.
If three sources agree and one doesn’t, we find out why. Usually the odd one out is the
most recent — and the other three are just old. -

We date everything.
Every price, route, and timing on this site carries the date we last verified it. If
something is six months stale, you’ll know, because we’ll have told you. -

We say what’s actually worth it.
A guide that recommends everything recommends nothing. When the €35 airport transfer is
a waste of money and the €4 bus does the same job, we’ll say so. -

We tell you when we don’t know.
If the sources disagree and we can’t resolve it, that goes in the article too. A
confident wrong answer is worse than an honest uncertain one.
Who’s behind it
I’m based in Rabat, Morocco. I come from a background in operations and data work, which is a
strange route into travel writing, but it turns out the skill transfers: my whole job has been
checking whether the thing everyone assumes is true still is.
Sun On Our Skin came out of my own frustration planning trips — the sheer amount of time spent
working out which of ten contradictory sources was the current one. That verification step is
the work. So we made it the product.
Every article here is reviewed and signed off by a named person before it goes live. Nothing
publishes anonymously, and nothing publishes unchecked.
What we won’t do
We won’t tell you we were somewhere we weren’t.
If an article is built on research, it reads like research — and that’s the point. What we offer
isn’t a postcard from the road. It’s a straight answer to the question you actually asked,
checked against what’s true this month.

If we couldn’t source it, we didn’t print it.
